In 1921, Dick Richardson founded Dick Richardson Company, Inc. In the 1920s the printing process was universal, but Richardson Company outperformed all others with a stronger focus built on customer service. It is this same service dedication that has been the hallmark Richardson's performance throughout its nearly 80 years of business.

Jim Barker purchased Richardson Printing from the founding family in 1980 and added many new changes in the company's production procedures. Although the company was under new ownership, the same attitude toward serving customers stayed at the base of the company's efforts.

Incredibly, the company has been named to the list of Kansas City's 100 Fastest Growing Businesses both in 1999 and 2000 in spite of its age. Jim Barker's tradition of service and investment of state-of-the-art equipment has been key to Richardson Printing's growth. As proof the company's commitment to service, Jim Barker has created a Customer Bill of Rights to ensure customer satisfaction for every step of the printing process.
